Who Can Benefit?
Open Access scheduling is ideal for individuals aged 45 to 74 who have had a physician or advanced practice provider, such as a physician assistant or nurse practitioner visit within the past 12 months. Exceptions are made for those under 45 with a first-degree relative diagnosed with colon cancer, allowing for screening 10 years before their relative’s diagnosis age.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Meet criteria for office-based procedures
- No previous complications with anesthesia or conscious sedation.
- No use of anti/coagulation/anti-platelet drugs other than aspirin.
- No ER visits/Hospitalization in the last 3 months.
- No active gastrointestinal symptoms. Positive fecal occult blood testing or Cologuard results are acceptable.
- No dementia and not currently living in a facility (long term care, rehab, assisted living)
- No severe or uncontrolled medical conditions.
- Body Mass Index (BMI) is under 42
