Heather Cummings, PA-C is a dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistant specializing in gastroenterology. She has developed expertise in both inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology care, ensuring comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for patients with digestive disorders.

Heather’s medical journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Clemson University, followed by a Master of Surgical Assisting from Eastern Virginia Medical School. She later earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Shenandoah University, where she graduated with honors and served as Class President.

Heather was a Gastroenterology PA Team Lead managing scheduling, optimizing treatment processes, and playing a key role in improving practice efficiency. Her background also includes extensive experience as a Surgical First Assistant, working across multiple specialties, including colorectal and bariatric surgery.

Passionate about patient advocacy and innovative healthcare solutions, Heather remains actively engaged in professional organizations such as the American Gastroenterology Association and the Gastroenterology & Hepatology Advanced Practice Provider group.
