Alexis Gurecki, MPA, PA-C, is a highly skilled and compassionate physician assistant specializing in gastroenterology. Her path in medicine began with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, with a minor in Biology, from the University of Virginia in 2005. Driven by a love of medicine and desire to care for others, she went on to earn her Master of Physician Assistant degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) in 2009, where she was inducted into the Pi Alpha Physician Assistant Honor Society and received the prestigious Paragon Award for excellence in the Physician Assistant Program. Alexis is board-certified by the National Commision on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

As a physician assistant with almost two decades of experience and a Hampton Roads native, Alexis is proud to have provided excellent patient care locally in both the outpatient and hospital settings. She began her career in Otolaryngology (ENT) and Allergy before transitioning to gastroenterology. She has developed an expertise in her ability to use her careful listening skills and compassionate approach to work as part of the medical team to create a comprehensive patient-centered treatment plan. She has a passion for patient education and strives to create a patient-provider relationship that allows for mutual decision making.

Committed to advancing the next generation of healthcare providers, Alexis has served as a preceptor and mentor for physician assistant students, guiding them in clinical excellence and compassionate care.

Outside of her professional work, she enjoys exploring the outdoors-from the beach to the mountains-with her family.
