Ashton Dear-Huffman, PA-C, is a skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant specializing in gastroenterology. Her path in healthcare began with a Bachelor of Science in Biology Pre-Med from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, VA (2014), followed by a Master of Physician Assistant degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA (2022). Her academic journey reflects a deep commitment to clinical excellence and patient-centered care.
Ashton brings a wide breadth of clinical experience, having cared for patients with a range of gastrointestinal conditions including hepatic steatosis, cirrhosis, inflammatory bowel disease, hepatitis B and C, GERD, esophageal motility disorders, eosinophilic esophagitis (EOE), GI cancers, and functional bowel disorders. Her training spans multiple specialties—internal medicine, emergency medicine, dermatology, vascular surgery, women’s health, psychiatry, and pediatrics—across both outpatient and hospital settings. This well-rounded background equips her to provide informed, empathetic, and evidence-based care at every step of the patient journey.
Outside of her clinical role, Ashton is a devoted wife and mother of two. She enjoys beach outings, gardening, golfing, painting, exercising, and volunteering for Vanguard Landing—a pioneering residential community for individuals with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities, founded by her mother and inspired by her sister. Ashton’s advocacy for inclusive care and community development mirrors her belief in supporting others beyond the clinic.
